A fierce believer in the ideals of friendship, scholarship, and service to others. She owned her own advertising agency and published 17 books. You probably know her best for being the first president of Alpha Chapter and the first National President of Alpha Omicron Pi.

Stella George Stern Pery

A most perfect confidant who ventured to Barnard as a sophomore from Wellesley. She taught high school German and English, reviewed books for the New York Herald Tribune, and wrote many short stories for the Girl Scout Magazine. "Bess" pioneered expansion of the Fraternity into Canada.

Elizabeth Haywood Wyman

A witty crusader for peace. She enjoyed a career as a distinguished teacher and writer, and was nominated for New York Secretary of State. Jessie gave AOII depth and sincerity.

Jessie Wallace Hughan

An intellectual, graduating first in her class of 300 from New York University Law School. She was the only Founder to become a mother. She held the office of Grand Corresponding Secretary for many years, and has done perhaps more than anyone else to mold the policies of Alpha Omicron Pi.
