We have all heard about how productive our free time should be and how well-organised our daily routines need to look like. Let's pump the brakes on the whole "plan your extracurricular activities" thing and focus on the way more pleasant things you can do when not busy or at work. These activities are called entertainment and the best part is that many of them do not require any effort or even focus in order to relieve you of your stress. However, many of them can be quite useful in terms of us improving our intellect or following the example of our idols. We can learn a lot from what writers and directors wanted us to find out or more specifically not to find out during a movie. The same goes for plays and songs.
Many people have their own favourite movie. It is inexplicable but they can watch it over and over again. Actually by doing so you might be able to find something new which you have missed the previous times. We are not talking about missed lines or something in the storyline that has blown by you. It is about details such as noises or something from the set which is symbolic and once you spot it a lot of things start making sense. This is the only real reason why someone might want to watch a movie more than once. Other than that try to see as many stories as possible in order to completely open your mind and enjoy many hours of quality work.
You should also follow new productions and see when they come out. Depending on the genre you are most fond of you should try and be free on certain release dates. For example many of the PG rated movies are released in mid-June upon the end of the school year. Serious movies usually come out in September or October. Of course you will be made aware of the date months before it. Most blockbuster movies get inflated interest half a year before the release date. You can follow the way things develop on social media, TV and forums. You will see many tweets and be able to get information as soon as it is released. Also make sure you follow your idols on the Internet as well. They post breaking news and exclusive info on their new projects. This way you will always stay in touch. And let's not forget the countless billboards and posters on the subway which pop up a month before the premiere of the movie. A fun fact regarding the money which a movie makes is that about 91% of the profit is made during the first week after the launch. People rarely go see movie twice in a ten day span. Another reason for this is the fact that there are so many new movies constantly coming out that we need room for them. So even blockbuster titles are soon taken off screen.
Reading also something you should not underestimate. It is the best way to have fun and improve your intellect at the same time. Some titles are simply a must-read and their movie adaptations are not worth it. For example The Great Gatsby has been put on screen many times including a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio but the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald definitely gives you the best experience. Even if you decide on buying a Kindle you still remain a fan of books. We are not here to judge the source of your books. They do not need to be paper printed. Just sit down and read a book. It is completely worth it. Teach your kids to do the same at an early age.
Listening to music is also an excellent way of spending quality time. It has evolved a little during the years. People used to just sit on their couch and listen to the sounds. Nowadays we clean our houses, ride in our cars or work while listening to music on the background. At some point focusing just on the melody, composition, details and notes of a song might be exceptionally exciting. So try to do it once in a while. A great controversy in the music industry has occurred with the presence of illegal downloads. There is no free music, basically, but people still manage to get their hands on product without paying for it. It is justified by the fact that you perhaps like just one or two songs in an album and it is not worth paying for 11 or 12. People in the Scandinavian countries have an interesting way of rewarding artists. They download some music for free and if they like it only then they buy the album to support the group or the singer. This sounds way more logical than you might think. Also make sure you attend concerts. It is a great opportunity to experience your favourite group and it is different than listening to them on your phone. Other listening options include:

Playing video games is a new trend and a constantly increasing one. Kids which started playing video games as a fad 15 years ago are now adults and still do it. Even people with families and kids love spending their free time playing games. It has been proven that playing video games stimulates certain areas of your brain and improves your analytical skills. This also enhances your decision making and makes your reactions quicker. It is also an excellent way to play with people from all over the world and communicate with them.
