Scotland's Politicians Just Agreed On Twitter To Stop Work And Watch Andy Murray

Some things are more important than politics.

Andy Murray is playing in the Australian Open this morning, and Scotland's politicians don't want to miss it. The leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Ruth Davidson, tweeted this:

FMQs (First Minster's Questions) takes place every Thursday, and gives opposition leaders the chance to grill Scotland's first minister.

First minister Nicola Sturgeon also fancied ditching work for the day.

@RuthDavidsonMSP I'm sure we could come to some arrangement - @kdugdalemsp?

The plan got going: A venue and snacks were arranged.

.@NicolaSturgeon ok, I'll bring the snacks - let's use your office. @kdugdalemsp Kez, you in?

Then Scottish Labour deputy leader Kezia Dugdale accepted the invite.

@RuthDavidsonMSP @NicolaSturgeon yes, there in a minute, looking for the Pimms

This is Ruth Davidson's view, although it's unclear if she's been joined by her colleagues.

Apparently the BBC just called our press office to see if I'm ACTUALLY watching tennis. The view from my desk...

FMQs is due to start at midday. Let's see who turns up...
