Here are of the biggest things we learned while reading her epic interview:
1. Never feel guilty for taking time out for yourself.
In a fast-pace culture, we can all constantly feel like we have to be on the go. However, Rihanna teaches us that a healthy work-life balance is mandatory for success. "Even mentally, just to be away from my phone, to be in the moment, that has been key for my growth," she told Vogue. "Now, when I come to work, I'm all in. Because before you know it, the years will go by."
2. The nude underwear she wore with the sheer Adam Selman dress in 2014 was one of her biggest regrets.
3. Women hold all the cards. All. Of. Them.
“As women, we’re looked at as the needy ones, the naggy ones, the ones who are going to be heartbroken in a relationship. Savage is just the reverse. And you know, guys don’t like getting the cards flipped on them—ever.”
4. You can grow and stay the same, simultaneously. And that's OK.
While we still see Rihanna in the limelight with her music, she's shown that you don't have to just be one thing to the world, and that people are not monolithic beings. Rih discussed being in Ocean's 8, launching Fenty Beauty, launching Savage x Fenty, non-profit organizations, and raising awareness around gun violence and education.
So what's the lesson? DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IN THIS LIFE. Think: What would Rihanna do?
