Kim Kardashian Responded To A Media Outlet For Pointing Out Her Psoriasis

Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin and affects 7.5 million people in the USA.

On Monday, February 4th, Daily Mail published an article on Kim Kardashian's skin, saying she was having a "bad skin day" while out and about in Los Angeles.

Kardashian West responded to the story, tweeting "It's psoriasis all over my face."

It’s psoriasis all over my face. 😢 https://t.co/E94lI7mfDG

According to Psoriasis.org, psoriasis is "an immune-mediated disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin." In the past, Kim has spoken on how psoriasis affects her and her eventual desire to begin medication.

I think the time has come I start a medication for psoriasis. I’ve never seen it like this before and I can’t even cover it at this point. It’s taken over my body. Has anyone tried a medication for psoriasis & what kind works best? Need help ASAP!!!

People came to Kim's defense, like this user who mentioned the challenges of being famous and constantly in the spotlight:

@KimKardashian This is why I can’t be famous, you literally cannot be human

Or why an entire article needed to focus on "bad skin days," as if they're not normal:

@KimKardashian This is ridiculous. You shouldn’t have to explain yourself. You’re human too and literally everyone on the planet has bad skin days, I’m so confused as to why there’s a whole article on your skin like they must be really running out of content 😬

We confirmed that Kim is indeed, a human, and has skin problems like the rest of us:

@KimKardashian It is confirmed that Kim K is not an alien with perfect skin. She is in fact, I repeat, in fact a human person. Bless your heart Kim for even having to explain.

Others shared their own personal stories with psoriasis (which is common and affects over 7 million people in the US alone):

@KimKardashian Do not let the media shake you. My mom has psoriasis, it took her a long time to accept it and not let the opinions of others shake her. Her psoriasis is still bad bc there are underlining issues she refuses to address, but people like you help start those convo. Thank you ❤️

And some educated others on the autoimmune disease:

@Ave13designco @KimKardashian What!!! It's an autoinmune disease , not an ambiental problem . The only solution are corticoids

So we've learned the obvious: EVERYONE has skin issues, and everyone's still fabulous!
