Who Else Knew "Wonder Woman" Was Coming Out Next Week?

Over the past few years there has been talks of DC Superhero, Wonder Woman, finally getting her own movie. I remember when the film was announced and then remember seeing one trailer for it on Facebook when it debuted not too long ago, but I did not realize it was coming out next week! Am I alone in this?

I have not been the biggest fan of the new brand of the DC movie franchise thus far ("Man of Steel", "Batman v Superman", "Suicide Squad") but I am hoping that the "Wonder Woman" film has a chance to redeem it all.

* It is the first superhero film to my knowledge where the main hero is a female since "Catwoman" (2004) or Elektra (2005). Both of which had much smaller budgets than "Wonder Woman".

* It is the first summer tent pole superhero film directed by a woman, Patty Jenkins, who is known for directing "Monster" (2003).

* Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince is being played by Israeli actress, model, and total bad ass, Gal Gadot.

I am glad I saw while scrolling on my IMDB app that "Wonder Woman" was being released because otherwise I feel I would not have known until the end of next week.

The issue I have is I feel DC has not been promoting this film as strongly as they promoted the other films this past year. Even though "Wonder Woman" enters theaters in the US June 2nd I have not seen any advertisements for it on social media or on television. In fact, I've seen advertisements for other films like "Spider-Man: Homecoming", "Despicable Me 3", and "The House", all over and they do not even come to theaters in the US until the end of June.

When "Suicide Squad" and "Batman v Superman" were coming to theaters I could not escape promotions for those films, but suddenly DC decided to calm down the promotions.

"Wonder Woman" was scheduled to be released in the US June 23, but too many films that would detract from "Wonder Woman" were also coming out that day, so it was pushed up to June 2nd. Either way, I am not going to miss it on opening night. Other than "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", this film is kicking off my list of must see summer blockbusters.
