Elevate Your Wedding Detail Photos

You've probably pinned beautiful invitation, shoe, and flower photos while planning your wedding. Now, how do you get those types of photos in your wedding gallery? I have 5 tips on how to be prepared to have beautiful wedding details documented on your big day.

1. 1. Your invitation suite

Take your time picking out an invitation suite that really show cases the theme of your wedding. There are so many options for having the perfect suite and a range of costs. If you are apprehensive about spending a bunch of your wedding budget towards paper that will get thrown away, consider having just a few keepsake sets made that you can keep and gift to your parents or other important people on your wedding day.

2. 2. Ask for extra flowers and greenery from your florist.

Having flowers and texture goes a long way in your wedding detail photos. You paid for beautiful bouquets and centerpieces, ask if you can have a few pieces to give your photographer for the flatlay images they create. Real flowers and faux flowers add so much to the images!

3. 3. Buy a ring box

Ring boxes are the cutest little detail to have on your wedding day and as a keepsake. The ring box can be used for more than detail photos as they can also be used to present rings during the wedding ceremony.

4. 4. Gather your items ahead of time so your photographer wastes no time getting the photos done and can get back to you and your wedding party

Having your details ready and grouped together in a bag or box will ensure all the things you want to be photographed will be photographed. If your photographer, bridesmaids, or parent needs to try to gather these items when you are getting ready something may be left out. Having your items all ready ahead of time also saves your photographers time so they can get to work and you'll get all the photos you want.

You can easily find inspiration for wedding photographers through Instagram and Pinterest, just search using hashtags for your area. Ask photographers you are interested in to see a full gallery so you aren't just seeing their highlight photos. This will give you the best idea of what variety of images you can expect in your wedding gallery and what you're investing in. Set aside time for your photographer to document these details as well. I typically spend 1 hour photographing all the important pieces my couples set aside for me and I feel it really helps tell their story.
