It's a Thursday night here in the University Area and where are students, from UNCC, headed to? Ale's. While sitting in class on a Thursday afternoon, all I hear around campus is the infamous question... "are you going to Ale's tonight?"

As a student, the most popular thing to do on a Thursday is go to the bar and get a "trashcan". And the name basically says it all...

In the 32 oz trashcan, it contains: vodka, rum, gin, triple sec and blue curacao... and a garnish of a RedBull, upside down.

Some other specials at the University location include:

$4 BAC beer cups, Taco Tuesday $1.50 tacos and 1/2 priced wine on Wednesdays

Angry Ale's Montford

In my opinion, the food at Angry Ale's on Montford tops the location at the University location. Recently, I went with work to have a happy hour and dinner over at this location and I was surely impressed.

First, we ordered a round of appetizers for the table that included buffalo shrimp, nachos, chicken tenders and fries, as well as two types of chicken wings. All I heard around the table was how delicious this spread was, and I was not surprised!

Another great quality to this location is how big their back porch was. It has plenty of seating, televisions for sporting events, and coverage for for when it gets hot and sunny during the summer time, the back porch is the place to be at. By 6 o'clock, it was packed with people having a great time enjoying their drinks and food. Montford always has various drink specials that include $5 alcoholic slushies!
