3 Ways Standardized Tests Don't Let Students Show Their Full Potential

Standardized tests are meant to test students about everything they were taught, but the format of the tests don't do that. Here are 3 ways that the standardized tests don't let us show our full potential.

1. Making us copy down the agreement in cursive.

Half of us weren't even taught cursive, so telling us to write four sentences is unfair. I remember in my second grade class, I was asking my teacher if we were going to learn cursive because my other friends were learning. She kinda just chuckled and said "You won't need it later on, so don't worry about it". Thanks Ms. Munos.

2. Not giving partial credit.

Why is it that you don't get graded on how well you went through solving a problem? You only get points if you get the question right, but sometimes we make small, arithmetic mistakes. Like c'mon, I forgot to add a 1, don't mark the whole question wrong. Plz.

3. Not asking how an equation works.

I know people will hate me for this, but it's important. It's important to know why an equation works instead of just knowing how to use it. If someone knows how an equation works and rights that down, they have a much better chance of getting the questions that require them use it, right. It also helps piggy back onto the partial credit thing. If the scorers know you know how to use the equations, then they'll know that your mistake was minor mistake.
