According to CBC News, the private snowplow had just cleared a driveway in the NDG neighbourhood when it started to smoke.

Andrea Videtic, who was watching from her window, saw two people get out of the truck when "all of a sudden, it turned into a massive amount of flaming everywhere," she told CBC.

The fire raged for about half an hour before fire crews put it out.

"I was very scared that there was going to be an explosion," Videtic said.

Nobody was injured as a result of the freak snowplow fire.
