This Woman's Lost Engagement Ring Turned Up 13 Years Later On A Carrot

And it still fits.

A woman in Edmonton who lost her engagement ring 13 years ago just found it again...on a carrot.

Mary Grams believes she lost her ring while weeding the garden on her family farm back in 2004.

"We looked high and low on our hands and knees," she told CBC News. "We couldn't find it."

She had had the ring for over five decades, and she replaced it without even telling her husband Norman, "because I thought for sure he'd give me heck or something."

But this week the long-lost ring turned up again, wrapped around this weird-looking carrot.

Grams' daughter-in-law was gathering vegetables in the same garden when she came across this little guy.

Colleen Daley said she didn't initially realize there was a diamond ring on the carrot. It was only after she got home and started washing the carrots that she and her husband realized what they had unearthed.

“All of a sudden there was this sparkling thing around it and about two inches down the ring had cut into the carrot,” Brian Grams told the Toronto Star.

“Mom had lost her ring several years ago and for some reason a carrot happened to germinate right through the ring and it grew around it.”

Grams, now 84, is obviously very happy she has her ring back. And the best part: it still fits.
