A Bar Gave This Woman Free Chicken Wings For Leaving Her Car Overnight

    A woman in Sherwood Park, Alberta, found a nice surprise on her windshield after leaving her car outside a bar overnight.

    Paula Schultz told CTV Edmonton she had left her SUV in the parking lot outside an Original Joe's pub and restaurant because she'd had a bit more wine than she thought was safe, so she took an Uber home instead.

    When she came back the next day, she thought she'd gotten a ticket. But it was much better than that.

    "Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight," read a letter from the restaurant manager.

    "I'm not sure if you had consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving," Jay McLean had written.

    The note included a voucher for a free pound of wings as a thank you.

    "Life is valuable, have a great weekend."

    Schultz shared a photo of the letter on her Facebook page, and everyone loved the gesture.

    Her post has been shared more than 8,700 times, with many people praising the bar. And it wasn't the first time this particular Original Joe's rewarded safe drivers. On Reddit, someone said they also got a thank-you in the form of chicken wings after leaving a car overnight. McLean said that he's been leaving notes on customers' windshields for about a year, and that he has never done it for publicity. “They came here and they chose to spend some of their few precious free minutes with us,” he told Global News. “I just hope they feel appreciated and thanked for not getting behind the wheel."
