You Can Actually See The Smoke Of The BC Wildfires From Space

BC has had more than 850 wildfires this year.

The wildfires in British Columbia have created so much smoke that you can actually see it from space.

This photo was taken by NASA's Aqua satellite on Aug. 1, showing just how thick the smoke is over the Lower Mainland and parts of Vancouver Island.

More than 850 wildfires have ravaged the province since April 1, burning up 4,900 square kilometres and hundreds of buildings, according to the BC Wildfire Service.

Here's a look at how the smoke has grown thicker and migrated south. Look out, America!
