A Canadian Man Was Charged After Running Himself Over With His Own Car

Police in the Durham Region of Ontario say they charged a man with impaired driving after he ran himself over with his own car on his friend's driveway.

Police said they responded to a disturbance call at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in Scugog Township. When they arrived, they found a 25-year-old man identified as Kevin Fidler "on the ground with injuries."

"Officers determined the male had reversed the vehicle down a driveway with the door open and fell out of the driver's seat," the police press release said. "The vehicle ran over his leg before hitting two mail box posts on the property."

After sending him to the hospital for his injuries, police charged Fidler with impaired driving.

The Durham Regional Police confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the man injured himself while backing out of a friend's driveway. An earlier version of this post said it was in his own driveway.
