* Old flannel shirt
* Rotary cutter
* Fabric glue
# Using the rotary cutter, cut off the sleeves of the shirt, make sure to cut along the outside of the seams.
# Take your scissors and cut along the seams of the sides of the shirt in order to separate the front and back of the shirt. Cut around the collar along the backside of the shirt to ensure that the collar remains intact and attached to the front of the shirt. Set the backside of the shirt aside.
# With the front of the flannel facing forward, fold the sides of the apron (where the sleeves used to be) back to form your desired apron shape. Glue this back using fabric glue along the inside of the fold.
# Take a rotary cutter and cut two 1 inch lines perpendicular to one another on each side of the apron where the apron would hit your waist. Put the front of the flannel aside.
# Take the backside of the flannel and cut two 2 inch strips of fabric along the vertical axis of the shirt.
# Next, take one of the strips of fabric and fold it in along the vertical axis from both sides, use glue to hold down the folds. Repeat this with the second strip. These will serve as your apron strings.
# Run one of the apron strings through the 1 inch line that was cut in Step 4. Repeat on the other side. Secure the apron string with a safety pin.
# Now your apron is ready to use!
