This program offered by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (obviously), educates students on the casino industry, from venue design to game engineering. The Entertainment Engineering & Design degree spans the disciplines of computer science, civil and structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical and computer engineering. Studied by both those who want to design the casinos and those who want to beat the games, this degree program  focuses on preparing students for a discipline that creates the highly technical designs that the entertainment industry has come to demand.

This program is offered by the University of Houston and is based around the scientific ways of making educated guesses. Professional futurists emphasize systemic and transformational change as opposed to traditional forecasters and planners who focus on incremental change based on existing conditions and trends.  Foresight graduates help clients and employers anticipate significant changes that lie ahead and to influence those changes to achieve their long-term goals.  The program provides collaboration and innovation with multiple perspectives on foresight, business and marketing, consumer science and retailing.

EcoGastronomy is offered by the University of New Hampshire and integrates strengths in sustainable agriculture, hospitality management, and nutrition, emphasizing the interdisciplinary, international, and experiential knowledge that connects all three fields. The term “gastronomy,” defined as the “art and appreciation of preparing and eating good food” is paired with the prefix “eco,” indicating that the “art and appreciation” of food cannot be separated from our agriculture, environment and the myriad social, economic, political and ethical issues associated with food production and eating. Students learn about the hospitality industry, nutrition, and agriculture, with a focus on sustainability and the process of farm to table.

EcoGastronomy

Offered by Florida Tech, this program combines the disciplines of astronomy and the life sciences. Students in the astrobiology program receive a broad education in areas that include planetary science, extrasolar planets, and the origin of life. At the same time, students take a solid core of mathematics, physics, and biology courses, allowing them to pursue a wide range of interests. Whether you want to study the effects of space travel on humans, discover past or present microbial life on Mars, or help develop ways to sustain life on the moon, you will be well prepared with an astrobiology degree from Florida Tech.
