Ranking The Halloween Costumes From "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"

The Scooby Gang dealt with monsters every day of their lives. So how did they dress up when it was their turn to be scary? A ranking of every Halloween costume on Buffy from worst to best.

14. Magician

20th Television

Who Wore It: Giles

Episode: "All the Way" (Season 6, Episode 6)

By the time Season 6 rolled around, Giles was as checked out of Halloween as he was with Sunnydale in general. He would take off for London in a few episodes and Buffy really should've seen the signs when all he did was throw on a Fantasia tablecloth and call it a costume.

13. "Hooker"

20th Television

Who Wore It: Willow

Episode: "Halloween" (Season 2, Episode 6)

Buffy's heart was in the right place when she tried to get Willow to "come as you aren't" and dress sexy for Halloween. But what was the concept, Buffy? Garbage cover band? Law & Order: SVU extra?

11. James Bond

20th Television

Who Wore It: Xander

Episode: "Fear, Itself" (Season 4, Episode 4)

In case the gang got turned into their costumes like they did in Season 2, Xander tried dressing up as James Bond. Buffy pointed out that he'd probably turn into "cool head waiter guy." Poor Xander.

9. Pirate

20th Television

Who Wore It: Xander

Episode: "All the Way" (Season 6, Episode 6)

Xander's costume is probably the first Pirate costume he saw hanging on the rack at Halloween World. Even the kids he runs into make fun of him. Try a little harder next time and maybe not with the Pirate accent.

8. 18th Century Noblewoman

20th Television

Who Wore It: Buffy

Episode: "Halloween" (Season 2, Episode 2)

This is a very impressive costume, yet totally impractical for turning up at any party.

7. Soldier

20th Television

Who Wore It: Xander

Episode: "Halloween" (Season 2, Episode 6)

Whew. Xander in a tank top. Thanks for understanding that guys should definitely dress sexy on Halloween too.

6. Little Red Riding Hood

20th Television

Who Wore It: Buffy

Episode: "Fear, Itself" (Season 4, Episode 4)

The best part about this costume is that Buffy used Riding Hood's basket to carry weapons in it. Frankly, that's not a bad idea for most women to adopt on Halloween where most guys are usually the worst.

4. Joan of Arc

20th Television

Who Wore It: Willow

Episode: "Fear, Itself" (Season 4, Episode 2)

Leave it to Willow to dress as a badass chick on Halloween. Way to go. And even better that a witch went as someone who was historically burned at the stake. #LEVELS

2. God

20th Television

Who Wore It: Oz

Episode: "Fear, Itself" (Season 4, Episode 4)

Laziest costume ever or best costume ever? As is the norm with Oz, the world will never know.

1. Ghost

20th Television

Who Wore It: Willow

Episode: "Halloween" (Season 2, Episode 6)

A white sheet with holes poked in it wasn't enough (because, you know, the KKK) for Willow. Writing "BOO!" across the sheet in big, bold letters gives it that extra cute touch.
