RSO Spotlight: Her Campus ISU

What is Her Campus?

Her Campus is an online women's magazine covering topics on love, health, fashion, beauty, career, and so much more! 

What do you do/what is it all about?

HC Illinois State is a chapter of the national website, HerCampus.com. Our team contributes weekly articles based on campus news, trends, and basically whatever else we want to write about that week!

What majors are you geared towards?

HC Illinois State welcomes all majors! However, many of our existing members have communication-based majors that involve a fair amount of writing experience. 

What can members accomplish?

Her Campus is a great experience for any college student who wants to improve their writing skills, while having the freedom to discuss topics they enjoy. With one article due per week, a member will be able to put a variety of articles into their portfolio, which will allow them to appeal to certain employers. If you are looking for a resume booster or a more organized hobby, Her Campus is the perfect place!

What is the time commitment?

We have weekly meetings on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. The meetings usually last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Sometimes we also conduct virtual meetings depending on the week.

How can you join?

We primarily accept applications at the start of a new semester. The application is located on our Facebook page and we ask that interested applicants send the completed application along with an updated resume to [e-mail].
