The main campus is located in the small town called Williamsburg, which is in the southeastern part of Kentucky. It is far enough from big cities, which means the environment is great. You can see squirrels, bunnies, and a lot of different animals running arounds campus.

For those of you, who worry about safety, University of the Cumberlands is the great place to attend school at. The crime rate here after 127 years is close to zero with a couple theft exceptions. Think about it… Only a couple in 127 years – that’s great.

3. Beautiful campus.

Beautiful and old brick architecture that was used to build the university amazes anyone who steps on campus. Flowers and trees are on every corner make you feel like you are in a tropical forest. The university has numerous number of employees that are trying to make this campus the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.

4. Relatively small enrollment.

The number of students on campus is only around 1,500 people, which is not bad because you are able to get to know almost all of them. It is a great way to make new friends, and on top of that, everyone is super friendly and trying to make sure that you are alright.

5. Separate dormitories for men and women.

Some of the people would say that it is bad, but for some of the parents it is important that their sons and daughters are safe. Having separate dormitories helps the university to keep the sexual assault rate at zero percent.

6. The university is Christian Based.

University of the Cumberlands provide its students with quality education in a Christian environment. There are multiple churches around campus so that any student can find a church for his or her particular religion and be close to God. The university also has a big amount of ministry trips throughout the year including summer. It is great aspect because it helps student to stay close with their faith and do not miss out church while attending a university.

7. Friendly faculty and staff.

The University of the Cumberlands’ faculty and staff is very friendly and welcoming. The class is always taught with a smile and laugh, which makes a study environment friendly and pleasantly.

8. Small classes.

The university is trying to keep its classes relatively small. The average amount of students on class is between 20-30 people, so that a teacher can work closely with students and be able to help out everyone in a class. This makes the learning process easier and delightful.

9. Many activities.

The university offers a lot of different activities throughout every week so that students can be entertained and do not get bored. In a small town like Williamsburg, it is important to keep students entertained because it is hard to find anything interesting in town.

10. Multiple food options.

Every student has a choice of three places to eat based on his or her meal plan. There is a cafeteria with different variety of food; grill, which is mostly fast-food with a few healthy options; and Patriots Steak House, which is a restaurant where students can sit down in a nice environment and enjoy their meal. Also, there are a lot of food places located around campus if a student wants something different.

11. Many athletic teams.

The university has a lot of athletic teams, which a student can be a part of and get a solid scholarship. The men’s sport teams are: Archery, Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, and Wrestling. And the women’s are: Archery, Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

12. Academic scholarships and grants.

Students can also receive academic scholarships and grants for their performances or achievements from high-school years. It might be common, but not all the universities in the country offer this privilege.

University of the Cumberlands is the largest and fastest growing non-profit, private university in the State of Kentucky that offers pre-professional programs, associate, bachelors, and doctoral degrees. This fact underlines the fact that it is a great place to get a degree at.
