7 reasons why the super blue blood moon was worth the sleep deprivation you received from staying up all night.

The Super Blue Blood Moon took place on January 31st and was visible from 3:48 a.m. to 4:51 a.m. A rare phenomenon.

    1. The view was insane, the moon literally transitioned from a warm white to a dirty red color before your eyes.

    2. Witnessing the transition in person is completely different than looking at photos. Reality kicks in a little more when things aren't behind a screen.

    3. You get to watch the world move. It's funny how well mortality sets in when your eyes are fixated on something not on earth. Meanwhile your peripherals of earth stay fluid letting you see how relevant everything is.

    4. If you’re lucky you'll get good photos and great memories. A once in a lifetime opportunity to brag to your kids about.

    5. You meet other enthusiast. If your spot was popular enough you seen other people. Generally folks who get up at 4am for something they care about offer good conversation. Also things are quite blissful in the early mornings, it's hard to be anything but compliant when fresh breezes hit your face.

    6. Starbucks opened at around the same time the eclipse ended which made it convenient to be functional the next day.

    7. It feels good telling other people about the amazing event they slept through. It validates your hard work.
