Jeff Harris - Self-portrait a Day Since 1999
Jeff Harris has been taking portraits of himself since January 1st 1999. He's amounted more than 4700 and still counting. Through good times and bad, sickness and health (he was diagnosed with cancer in November 2008), Jeff Harris has managed to consistently document his life which includes joy, sadness and everything in between. But most importantly, this project has made Jeff Harris live his life. I am in awe of this. via The Culturist.
Walking On the Sea Bed
This clip from Oceans: Into the Blue documentary was filmed underwater in real-time. Watch Sulbin, a Bajau fisherman, freediving to 20 metres to catch a fish - all in one breath. That's not all, he can also walk on the sea bed. They should create an action hero based on him. Via The Culturist.
The Sartorialist and His Visual Life
A beautifully shot video featuring The Sartorialist's Scott Schumann talking about his visual life. "It’s almost like going out there and letting yourself fall in love a little bit every day, letting yourself be seduced a little bit every day." Via The Culturist.
Largest Balloon Water Fight
This video for You Always Make Me Smile by Kyle Andrews has 4000 extras and 120,000 balloons (which are biodegradable and filled with non-potable irrigation water). It is also an attempt to set the world record for the largest water balloon fight. But besides all of that, it's a really cute song. Via The Culturist.
Give Up Your Birthday This September
Every September, charity:water (a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations) run a campaign asking people to give up their birthdays and to ask for donations instead of gifts. They use 100% of the money donated to build water projects. Birthdays can change the world. Via Via The Culturist.
