Ten Characters Left Out Of Harry Potter Movies

If you've read the Harry Potter books, and have watched the movie, you'll notice that several characters are missing. These are the characters we're saddest to see don't exist in the movies.

Peeves

For me, Peeves was the hardest to believe wasn't in the movies. He gave a light-hearted feeling through the series during tough times, and even if you despised him, he was loyal to Hogwarts in the end. Here is a quote from one of his finest hours "We did it, we bashed them, wee Potter's the One, And Voldy's gone moldy, so now let's have fun!". And let us not forget his part in ridding the school of Dolores Jane Umbridge "Hogwarts High Inquisitor"! I salute you Peeves! Oh look, it's the Bloody Baron!

Winky

We all know that poor house-elf Winky, who was willing to take her master's secrets to the grave, who knew all along about the demented Bartemius Crouch Jr. She cared so deeply for him and his family, and was devastated when she was let off. But sadly, she was left out of the movies. She didn't have a main role, but took a lot of drama out of the movies.

Ludo Bagman

Ok, we all have a soft spot for Ludo Bagman. But alas, like so many others, he didn't make it into the films. With a splendid past as Beater in the Wimbourne Wasps, he was widely known, unlike the fact that he was in serious debt when the TriWizard Cup rolled around. After betting on Harry to win outright, he offers lots of help other champions didn't have access to, but Harry, proud and fair, declines time and time again. After Harry tied with Cedric Diggory, Ludo lost it all, and had to go on the run. He didn't have a huge role, but removing him took lots of tension from "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire"!

Charlie Weasley

Wait, what! A Weasley snatched from the films? Yes, Charlie has no business in the films, but he is mentioned by Ron several times, but we never see his face. Charlie works in Romania studying the wild and vicious beats known as dragons, and takes a young, but still dangerous, dragon out of Hagrid's large hands. He tries recruiting for the Order of The Phoenix in Romania, and appears in "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire", showing Hagrid and Harry the dragons the school champions will face. Charlie may not have been in the star role, but he will be missed.

The Gaunts

We all know the Gaunts, the disgusting family who lived like hogs, convinced they were practically royalty because they had pure blood, descended from Salazar Slytherin. Marvolo and the eldest Morfin, lorded over Merope, the youngest and only girl. Poor Merope lived in fear, secretly dreaming of the handsome Muggle from across the town in the manor. Finally she persuaded him a love potion, and you know the rest. We get the Dark Lord. I'm sorry to see they weren't in the movies, because it really rounded the plot off.

Alice and Frank Longbottom

Harry Potter isn't the only one with a tragic backstory. We can't forget poor Alice and Frank Longbottom, tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange, and don't even recognize their poor son Neville. This is a classic example of The Dark Side. But this unfortunate pair don't have a mention in the movies, sadly.

Augusta Longbottom

The fierce old lady who played parent to Neville Longbottom after the torture of his parents has not a word in the films. She is portrayed in several occasions throughout the book series. This elderly woman is fiercely proud of her son Frank Longbottom, and is always hinting Neville is not equal to him, but loves him all the same. In "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows" she puts Dawlish, an Auror into St. Mungos, and so she definitely keeps her skills sharp. Augusta plays a huge role in Neville's life, but sadly still isn't in the films.

Dennis Creevey

While we all know Colin Creevey, how many of us know his younger brother Dennis? Dennis, like Colin, is in awe of Harry, something Harry find quite irritating. Nonetheless, he fights in the Battle of Hogwarts, where his brother loses his life, and Dennis's own fate is unknown. His loyalty to Harry was unwavering, as was his awe. We honor you Dennis, and we will remember you always Colin.

Professor Binns

The only ghost teacher at Hogwarts, and by far the most boring professor, Professor Binns never made it into the films. His subject, History of Magic, easily the most boring class, of which only Hermione can focus in. This is why I can see him being removed. Allegedly, at a great age, he sat before the fire to sleep, and arose as a ghost. As far as anyone can tell, he hasn't changed!

Andromeda and Ted Tonks

We all know and love Nymphadora Tonks, or Nymphador Lupin if you will. But how well do you know her parents, Ted and Andromeda? Andromeda is the sister of the fearsome Bellatrix Lestrange, and of Narcissa Malfoy. She resembles Bellatrix from afar, but close, has a different, kinder appearance. Ted, murdered during "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows", is a Muggle-born, and was sorted into Hufflepuff.
