Water is the element of pliability, reflecting the ever-changing nature of life. Although it brings sustenance and healing, too much can also bring about doom, drowning things out and washing them away.  
Waterbending is based on taiji, a martial art that uses relaxed, fluid movements to redirect attacks, meeting blunt force with controlled softness.   
Like water, you are flexible and adaptable to different circumstances. This is because you are generous with your compassion, caring deeply about others and seeking to help anyone who might need it. Your benevolence and fierce loyalty make you a wonderful lifelong friend. Your ability to listen to others and be inclusive of their ideas make you an effective and trustworthy leader. Furthermore, you have the optimism that sees the best in people and situations alike.  
However, just as a pleasant shower can quickly turn into a destructive storm, you may risk becoming overbearing. Sometimes you interfere too much in situations that are beyond your control. This not only repels others from you, but also causes yourself much unneeded stress. You have trouble letting go of things: obligations, anxieties, failing relationships, which can cause you much unhappiness. In order to avoid these negative feelings, you must remember that you cannot please everybody; that some people will learn on their own or be helped by others in the future.

Water

Earth is the element of substance. It is accessible and inclusive of all life, as it takes on a number of diverse forms in sand, clay, mud, and rock.  
Earthbending is not based on any particular martial arts style; rather, it is a combination of various styles which are tailored to suite the individual bender. Most earthbending is based on Hung Gar, but Toph practices her own unique style evolved from Southern Praying Mantis. Central to earthbending is a strong stance from which benders can deliver strong punches and kicks. In this way, they are able to attack with ferocity while also enduring opponents' attacks.  
Much like the earth itself, you are quite concrete in their personality. You are unafraid to speak your mind and live with a strong sense of purpose, making you rather resilient to the opinions of others. In this way, you infuse others around you with a similar sense of confidence. Due to your self-awareness, you tend to be more relaxed and easy-going than most people. You know that everyone, including yourself, makes mistakes. With this attitude, you are able to easily learn from your past mishaps without being hindered by feelings of shame or guilt.  
It's important for you to remember, however, that not everybody thinks or acts like you. Many people go through multiple steps of getting what they want instead of asking for it directly -- and their way isn't necessarily worse. Small-talk, flattery, and white lies are not always superficial; these little conversations can ease open the doors to other people's trust. All people have reasons, most of which you'll never know, for believing what they do and shaping who they are.  
The biggest challenge for you is expanding your perspective. Earthbenders are creative, able to manipulate elements of their surrounding environment, while keeping themselves rooted in a way that makes others feel comforted. They are masterfully strategic, making their perspectives extremely valuable when it comes to forming plans of any kind. Most importantly, they have an easier time seeing the bigger picture than those who bend the other elements. Due to this quality, friends of earthbenders have the benefit of learning how to stop sweating the small things.

Earth

Fire is the element of power. It is the only element of the four that is generated from within the body instead of being manipulated from surrounding natural elements. Fire fluctuates rapidly between helpful and harmful: while it brings light and warmth, it can easily incinerate and create unstoppable destruction.  
Firebending is based on Northern Shaolin Kungfu, a martial art that focuses on strong rapid attacks, but sacrifices defense more than most other martial arts styles. The physical movements that constitute firebending are, like its practitioners, extravagant and explosive.  
Like fire, you are intense and powerful. You have both the passion to aspire for great things, and the drive to actually achieve them. You exude warmth to all those around you because you have so much within yourself, making you a pleasure to be around. People are naturally drawn to your confidence, generosity, and animation. Bringing life and light to everything you do is not just an innate talent; it is your lifestyle. You work hard to stand out, making you quite an extraordinary person.   
Also like fire, you can be hot-headed. Along with your extraordinaire comes a big ego that loves to be right. Remember that strength is also admitting when you're wrong so that you can forgive yourself and learn from your mistakes. Moreover, fire contains combustible energy that mandates release, making it extremely important that you have ways for coping with negative emotions. By doing so, you can avoid lashing out at others and hurting them undeservingly, or even worse, suppressing them and hurting yourself.   
Your biggest challenge is self-control. Without control, the effects of fire can be devastating. Your emotional abilities allow you to easily empathize with others, but you must also know when to detach from your feelings so that they do not consume you. Furthermore, your passion-driven endeavors also benefit from a certain level of control, so that you can maintain work-life balance, give direction to your energy, and keep the bigger picture in mind.  
People have a lot to gain from having a firebender friend. Firebenders inspire others purely by being so passionate in their own lives. Their dynamic personalities coupled with their diverse interests and affinity for spontaneity, make hanging out with them a total thrill. There never seems to be a boring moment with a firebender around. Most importantly, through their own conduct, firebenders make others less afraid to feel the full depth of their emotions and infuse others with a love for life.

Fire

Air is the element of freedom. Unlike water and earth, it is available in abundance in almost every location that sustains life. Unlike water and fire, it is also rarely excessive enough to be fatal.  
Airbending is based on Baguazhang, a martial art that focuses on defensive maneuvers, evading an opponent's attacks with patience and thus allowing the opponent to wear themselves out.  
Like air, you prefer to be neutral in behavior. Your biggest skill is maintaining harmony within yourself and in your external environment. You see internal happiness as essential to dealing with worldly problems. Therefore, you are relatively more able to detach from your emotions, especially your negative ones. With an undying spirit and a good sense of humor, you navigate the challenges of daily life with apparent ease. Externally, you like to keep the peace between people and avoid negativity. This makes you a generally well-liked person and an effective party for arbitration.  
The strengths of an airbender can become weaknesses when not balanced appropriately. Sometimes your attitude of neutrality or non-involvement can be perceived as passivity or apathy, making people hesitant to trust you because they do not know where your loyalty lies. Most of your weakness comes from self-sacrifice. You would rather absorb a hit than deflecting it to others because you want to avoid causing others suffering to any extent. However, the blows of life are not for you to bear alone; you have many friends who can, and are willing to, share in your burden.  
Your biggest challenge is confrontation. Of course there is a beauty to the art of not sparking any flames. However, at times, non-confrontation will hinder your effectiveness because not everybody thinks as selflessly as you do. You will be faced with situations in which you need to tell people straight-up what you think. Sometimes putting your foot down is the only means to justice, to gaining the respect that you deserve.  
Airbenders are truly remarkable and honorable people. Just as they love deeply and extensively, without discrimination, they also forgive willingly and completely. However, as airbenders often blame themselves when things go wrong, it is important that they remember to show themselves the same level of forgiveness and compassion that they show to others. Achieving this balance will make airbenders free to truly love, infusing them with immeasurable power.
