Strut Your Stuff On National Chicken Dance Day!

Looking for a reason to strut your stuff? Then you're in luck, because May 14th is a day when folks from coast to coast plan to do just that as they celebrate National Chicken Dance Day! Always May 14th, and originally called "The Duck Dance," it appears someone may have laid an egg on this occasion because it was difficult to find an exact purpose for this daffy day. Nevertheless, people everywhere love the Chicken Dance. In fact, a new World Record for the Longest Chicken Dance Line was established in Mandan, N.D. in 2010 at their annual Independence Day Parade and Street Festival. Their line covered 1.627 miles! Any participants who didn't know how to do the Chicken Dance were told to just "wing it!"

So, go ahead, don't be chicken! Commemorate the day with family or friends by pushing the furniture out of the way, kicking off your shoes and kicking up your heels. Ruffle your feathers and strut your stuff so everyone can see who rules your roost. National Chicken Dance Day is always a great day for people to practice the Chicken Dance for all the upcoming weddings, birthday parties, bat mitzvahs and family gatherings that will undoubtedly feature this party favorite for all ages. It's also an excellent suggestion for a gym or exercise classes, and you might as well brush up on your Electric Slide, Bunny Hop and Hokey-Pokey moves while you're at it. Oh, and let's not forget the Macarena! Hey Macarena!
