Here's I Make Four-Ingredient Ice Cream Without Any Fancy Equipment

    No ice cream maker required.

With the flowers in bloom and the birds chirping, spring is finally here, and that means one thing: It's ice cream season.

Whereas most homemade ice cream recipes require an ice cream maker, I recently stumbled upon this version, which requires just four ingredients and a mason jar.

All you need is a wide-mouthed 16 oz mason jar, cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

Making it couldn't be more simple. Just combine 1 cup of the cream, 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a small pinch of salt in the mason jar.

You can also add any extras like cut-up strawberries, cookie dough, crushed graham crackers, chocolate sauce, crumbled Oreos, or chocolate chips.

Next: shake shake shake vigorously for a minute or two. Then, pop the mason jar into your freezer. It should take about three hours to become the consistency of ice cream, but you can let it sit for longer.

When you remove the mason jar from the freezer, you'll have ready-to-eat ice cream.

Transfer it to a bowl with your favorite ice cream toppings or just dig into the mason jar with a spoon.

The texture is slightly less thick than store-bought ice cream, but it tastes super creamy and decadent, almost like frozen, milky whipped cream. And I, for one, am here for it.

On that note, here's a look at tonight's plans:
