Did You Have A Negative Study Abroad Experience? I Want To Hear All About It

Studying abroad isn't all sunshine and roses...

Ah, study abroad. For many students, it's supposed to be the experience of a lifetime — the semester worth looking forward to most. But for some people, a semester abroad isn't all it's talked up to be.

Recently, this story about an NYU student who studied in Florence went pretty viral. She hated her study abroad experience, and she wasn't afraid to admit it.

And she certainly isn't alone in her sentiments. So I want to hear about your negative study abroad experience.

Maybe you moved to Madrid for the semester to embark on a homestay, only to discover that you totally clashed with your host family.

Or maybe a semester abroad in Australia made you feel isolated and homesick because you were so far away from your family and friends back home.

Maybe you moved to Paris for the semester to learn, but you felt as if your classes were a total waste of time and money.

Whatever the case, I want to hear about the study abroad experiences that ended up falling short of your expectations.

If you had a negative experience, tell me about it. Where were you studying, why did you feel it was a bad experience, and what would you have done differently if you could do it again?
