And she’s only 19! What an icon!
It’s only fitting that one of Ortega’s first films was in one of the most iconic horror franchises of this century. Even though she only says a couple of lines at the end of the movie, I think it’s important to include where her horror roots began.
WHERE YOU CAN WATCH: Insidious Chapter 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
You has to be one of my favorite projects of Ortega's because of its many slasher aspects. I mean come on, it’s about a guy who stalks people and has a cage in his basement. It's definitely one of Ortega’s most notable works. Her character was easily one of the best characters of the second season with perfect one-liners always ready to go. I'm hoping that her character comes back in Season 4!
WHERE YOU CAN WATCH: You is currently streaming on Netflix.
You’ve got to hand it to her: Jenna Ortega has mastered the snarky teen character. In this film, we finally get to see Ortega kick some demon ass and it's delightful.
WHERE YOU CAN WATCH: The Babysitter: Killer Queen is currently streaming on Netflix.
If there’s one thing Ortega knows how to do, it's give us a good SCREAM. The opening scene in the fifth installment of the Scream franchise plays as an homage to the original movie and will definitely be going down in horror movie history as instantly iconic.
WHERE YOU CAN WATCH: Scream (2022) is currently streaming on Paramount+.
In this horror movie starring the Foo Fighters dealing with supernatural forces, Jenna Ortega still slays in a minor role as a member of the fake band Dream Widow and ultimately meets her demise at the hands of Dave Grohl. RIP Taylor Hawkins.
WHERE YOU CAN WATCH: Studio 666 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
In this fun horror movie directed by Ti West about adult movie stars, Ortega is so fun to watch as a stand-out amongst her fake coworkers.
WHERE YOU CAN WATCH: X is currently only showing in theaters, so grab a ticket ASAP!
