Who doesn't love a warm day in the winter? My boyfriend and I took advantage of this weather and took a hike at Crowders Mountain this past weekend!

Exploring Crowders Mountain

Crowders Mountain is located in Gaston County, which is about a 45 minute drive from Charlotte. It's a great location to explore the trails, hiking, and take your dog for a nice walk. There are many different trails and each of them have a different difficulty level. The three most popular trails are the Backside Trail, Crowders Trail, and the Pinnacle Trail. The mountain also has lakes you can explore, but the most popular area is the overlook. This is a location near the top of the mountain where hikers can stop, relax, take amazing pictures, and get the best view. You have to go up about 336 wooden steps to get to this beautiful location. But...if you're feeling adventurous you can take the alternative route.

My Hike

My boyfriend and I got to the mountain around 11 am and it was already packed. This is such a popular hiking location and the weather makes it even better! We decided to be adventurous and take the most difficult trails. We also decided on only hiking three miles...we were wrong. We went on the Crowders Trail and the Pinnacle Trail. All the trails flow together, so we just kept trying out different ones! After our hike, we ended up walking 5 miles and we went on three different trails. We were able to climb rocks, look at great views, and walk down different trails. Our hike was such a fun experience and we will definitely be going back again. Crowders has so many trails that every time you go you can explore something different!

Go Hike

I recommend going to Crowders on a fun date! It's something different from just going out to dinner. You get to exercise and hang out with your special someone at the same time! If you go to Crowders definitely go early in the morning because it will get HOT! So next time you want a new adventure....go explore Crowders Mountain for the day!
