“Sex/Life” Star Sarah Shahi Spoke Out Against The Quality Of Season 2 Before The Show’s Cancellation

    "I never saw him."

This post contains spoilers for Sex/Life.

Just before the Netflix series Sex/Life was canceled, actor Sarah Shahi shared her thoughts on filming what would become its final season.

According to Sarah, making Season 2 was an entirely different experience from the first since she didn’t have as many scenes with costar Adam Demos, to who she’s engaged in real life.

Sarah plays Billie, a wife and mother of two, who is seemingly happy — or should be — with her white picket fence life. However, as the intimate relationship between her and her husband cools, she starts to question her life and reminisce about her more adventurous past.

Enter Brad, an ex-lover played by Adam, who she shared a passionate romance with, and who she still lusts for.

The first season brought the pair back into each other’s, err, arms — or, bodies, you know. While Billie initially chose her family over the rekindled romance, the second season kicked off with Billie regretting her decision.

But things didn’t exactly work out as Brad had moved on and was expecting a baby with his new girlfriend.

"I was bummed that I wasn't able to work with him as much because I really liked our stories and I like working with him," Sarah shared on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.

"He was a brilliant scene partner," she added. "Also, what ended up happening is I was working so much and he was working so little. He's in 60 seconds of the entire thing. I never saw him."

Sarah also noted the second-season storylines felt “very gimmicky.” She explained, "Those kinds of things for me are always really hard to read. There were other things that I just felt I couldn't get behind, and it was just challenging."

Sarah shared that while she doesn't want to put down the show, there was a different level of support compared to the initial season, which also made the experience difficult. "I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show," she said. "It became a much different thing for me, and I'm not afraid to say that."

Sex/Life concluded its run after two seasons. But for those wondering, at least Billie and Brad's saga ends on a happy note. In the finale, the two exchange "I do's" and Billie shares that she's pregnant.

Sad to say, Billie and Brad won't be steaming up the screens anymore, but at least fans can find peace knowing that the characters got their happy ending and that the real-life couple is still hot and thriving.
