    We've all heard it before, we need to "love ourselves more." But what does that even mean?

    Self-love is “a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth.” - Dr. Deborah Khoshaba

    When we engage in things that expand self-love, we can more easily accept our strengths and weaknesses.

    Loving yourself can sometimes be a struggle...so how can you feel happy and confident in your own skin?

    1. Find something you're good at and ENJOY it!

    2. Don't dwell on the past - focus on your future. In order to do this, you'll need to forgive yourself and your past mistakes. Regret, guilt and anger will bring you down.

    3. Compliment yourself every day - you deserve it.

    4. Stop comparing yourself to others. Focus on your own successes rather than others; it's a habit that will only hold you back.

    5. Exercise regularly. Not only does it release endorphins that make you happy, it's crucial to maintaining good health.

    6. Take care of yourself. Pay attention to what you put in your body because it can affect your physical AND mental health.

    7. Just relax. It's easy to get caught up in the everyday stresses of life. Whether it's through meditating, taking a bath, or coloring, learning to de-stress is an important step to self-love.
