25 Easter Eggs Hidden In Your Favorite Disney And Pixar Movies

It's a small, small world

Easter eggs are a fun way for the Disney/Pixar animators to incorporate little hidden messages within their movies that pay homage to certain important figures, traditions, and even other movies. Disney and Pixar have been incorporating Easter eggs as a part of their movies since the dawn of time, but here are just a few of my favorites, ranging anywhere from extremely obvious to fairly obscure.

So next time you watch one of these classic Disney and Pixar films, be sure to keep you eyes peeled!

Royal Party Guests

This one is incredibly famous, and you probably already know about whether you consider yourself a Disney buff or not. But nonetheless it is worth mentioning, because a world where Tangled and Frozen intertwine is certainly one I'd like to live in! If you blink you'll miss it, but for a split second, two guests can be seen entering the castle for Elsa's coronation, and you may notice that they look suspiciously like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

Read a Book, or Maybe Two or Three

Moving along to Rapunzel's own movie, when Rapunzel visits the village, she can be seen sitting on the floor in a library together with Flynn, surrounded by books. If you take a closer look, these books bare the titles of some of our favorite classic Princess tales, including Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid.

Presents from the Past and the Future

In the beloved Pixar classic, Monsters Inc., Boo can be seen giving Sulley parting gifts on several occasions. These include a Jessie doll from Toy Story, and a plush version of the main character from their upcoming movie, Finding Nemo. Although obvious, these references are fun to catch, and sometimes may even contain hints about what's to come!

Bomb Voyage!

There is a scene in Ratatouille where Bomb Voyage, super villain from the incredibles can be seen in the background working as a mime outside of Notre Dame.

In Tarzan, a gorilla named Terk can be seen playing with a tea set that looks suspiciously like the one present in the Beast's castle from Beauty and the Beast. Mrs. Potts, is that you??

Freeze Criminal!

In the Pixar film Big Hero 6, a wanted poster for the infamous Hans of the Southern Isles can be spotted on a bulletin board at the police station. I guess we just can't let that one go, sorry Hans.

Finding Wall-E

In Finding Dory, we get to see quite a bit of the aquarium as Hank helps her make a quick escape. In one of these scenes, a Wall-E poster can be spotted at the back of the room.

Ah, who doesn't love a classic, right? Well this Easter egg combines two classic favorites in the best way possible. In the opening scene of The Little Mermaid, Mickey, Goofy and Donald can be spotted amongst the crowd of merpeople who have gathered to watch the concert.

During his training, Phil gives Hercules a wide array of items to help with his success as a hero. One of these items is a headdress made from the skin of a lion we know all too well. Well Scar, you know what they say, what comes around goes around.

Keep Your Eyes on the Stars

In the opening credits of Toy Story 2, a starry sky can be seen along with the name of the Walt Disney Company. If you look closely, a constellation depicting the classic silhouette of Luxo Jr. (the Pixar desk lamp) can be seen just above the lettering.

Lotso References to Choose From

In one of the scenes in Up, Carl's house is scene rising up outside the window of a little girl's bedroom. If you take your eyes off of the house and direct them to the corner of the room, you can see Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear from Toy Story make a cameo appearance.

Pizza's Here!

This one is generally very well known, but it's become such a classic that I had to include it! Ever since Toy Story, the famous delivery truck from Pizza Planet can be seen in every single Pixar movie. It even comes to life in the Cars franchise, and a rusty, broken down version can be spotted amongst the piles of garbage in Wall-E.

A Poster Full of Honor

While Mulan is referenced several times throughout the movie Lilo and Stitch, one of the more obvious references is shown in Nani's room, where a poster featuring Mulan and her horse can be clearly seen hanging above her bed.

Liar, Liar!

This one is hard to miss, but if it's been a while you may not remember it fully, so I'll jog your memory for you. In Aladdin, the Genie changes his appearance temporarily when speaking in order to help prove his point. In one of these scenes, his head turns to that of a familiar puppet when he talks about lying.

We Found Nemo!

In the third instalment of the Toy Story franchise, there is a scene where Buzz and Woody are seen standing in front of Andy's toy chest. On the bottom right hand corner of this chest, a sticker can be seen featuring none other than Nemo himself.

Out on a Limb

In Wall-E, our beloved robot can be seen building an Eva lookalike made of scraps and garbage. If you look closely, you may notice that one of her arms looks a little familiar, well in fact, her right arm is made of a rather rough looking Luxo Jr.

Have you ever wondered why the term "A113" seems to pop up in every Pixar movie? Well trust me, it's no coincidence. A113 was the classroom number for character animation at the California Institute of the Arts, where many Pixar animators studied. This number makes an appearance in every Pixar movie, often taking the form of a license plate number.

Short and Sweet

In Toy Story, there is a scene where Woody is shown in front of a bookshelf in Andy's room. The spines of these books show the titles of some of the most beloved Pixar short films. These include classics such as Tin Toy, Luxo Jr., and Knick Knack.

Incredibly Deceptive

In Pixar's recent movie Coco, Miguel travels all around the land of the dead in order to restore his own life. In doing so, he passes a wall that features a poster of a skeletal version of our favorite super hero family, The Incredibles.

Scary Resemblance

Deep within the walls of Monsters Incorporated, a monster can be seen practicing his scare techniques. If the blue backdrop with the little white clouds looks oddly familiar to you, that's probably because the same pattern can be seen on the walls of Andy's room in the Toy Story movies.

Along with a wide variety of wooden trinkets seen in the witch's lair in Brave, a carving in a piece of wood near the bottom shows a picture that looks quite a bit like Sulley from Monsters Inc.

In Toy Story 3, a bulletin board can be seen with several pieces of paper hanging from it. Among these papers is a postcard addressed to Carl and Ellie from Up.

Drive In Movies

Throughout the Cars franchise, several scenes show a movie theater advertising its feature film. Coincidentally, these films are all motorized versions of our pre-existing Pixar favorites such as Monster Trucks Inc. and The Incredimobiles.

On a Roll

Last but not least, yet another well known classic: the Luxo ball. This famous yellow ball originated in the Luxo Jr. short along with our favorite desk lamp. It has since made a cameo in every Pixar film that followed and become quite an icon in the world of Pixar.

Whether you knew most of these already or you're just getting started, Easter eggs are a staple in the world of Disney and Pixar. And you can never get tired of spotting them in your favorite movies.
