Sicily, Sicillia (Italian) is a rugged and beautiful island (the largest one in the Mediterranean Sea) on the southern tip of Italy, and is one of the country's 20 regions. From the faded glamour of capital Palermo to the ancient riddles of its temples and archaeological sites, its fiery eruptions from postcard volcanoes to its cooling aquamarine seas, this island has a moment for all moods.

Sicily

Rome (or Roma in Italian) is the capital of Italy and has a population of 2.8 million, the Romans. Wander the cobblestone street with gelato in hand, spend some time watching people from the Spanish Steps, spend hours in the museums, and take in all of the stunning architecture the city has to offer. Rome is also a foodie's heaven, from the world-class cuisine to casual trattorias and takeaway pizzas.

Naples, or Napoli for Italians, is a major port city in the south of Italy in the Campania region. The city has everything for an inspiring city trip because of the rich history, the Italian cuisine and especially in the field of art and culture, the city has a lot to offer. Although the messy city initially has a somewhat dilapidated and neglected appearance, the city has many beautiful churches, museums and monuments. In addition, it is the city of pizza, espresso and football legend Diego Maradona, who played for SC Napoli.

Napoli

For anyone looking for a deeply layered, often unvarnished and boldly authentic travel experience, head to Genoa. Offering both splendor and grit and an undiluted sense of history, the city is rich in art and notable architecture. Genoa also has some of the tastiest food in Italy, being the capital of Liguria, there’s pesto, focaccia and plentiful seafood, but the city's cooking goes well beyond that.
