Friendsgiving 101: As Told By The Peanuts

It's that time of year, when everyone is either off from school, work, or is heading home for Thanksgiving. Of course, seeing your family for two or three consecutive days is amazing, but its nice to get away and spend a night with your close friends. "What should I do during the holidays with my friends?", you may be asking yourself at this current moment. Alas, here is a guide to plan the most amazing Friendsgiving the world has ever seen. 1. Be the host of your Friendsgiving.

Holidays are sometimes extremely stressful, especially if you are the one hosting them. In the end, you will be so happy you made the decision to do it. Take the risk and be the party planner.

2. Invite your friends.

You do not have to use a rotary dial phone like Charlie Brown did to invite his friends. Send out a Facebook invitation or Evite with a strict RSVP date so you have ample time to prepare and shop.

3. Find a friend that can be your "preparation sidekick".

If you are having a big gathering it is always a good idea to have a helping hand when cooking and setting up. One of your friends in the group would probably be happy enough to help!

4. Head to the grocery store.

Hopefully your friends would have already RSVP’d and you will know how much to buy. Do not forget your food shopping list! Recommended items: Turkey, stuffing, cranberries, and a pumpkin pie. Or if you want to be like Snoopy and Woodstock, go for jelly beans and popcorn.

5. Decorate and set up your Friendsgiving room.

After shopping for hours at the grocery store, make sure to put away your food and get ready to set up the scene. Use whatever furniture and decorations you have around the house and create an inviting environment.

6. Get ready to cook.

The best part about Friendsgiving: the food! Wash your hands, put on your apron, and get ready to take over the kitchen.

Now is your time to shine. Show off your cooking skills and prepare the best Friendsgiving feast the world has ever seen! If you are not good at cooking, I heard that certain supermarkets have stellar pre-cooked dinners (your secret is safe with me).

Go all out! Dress in head to toe Thanksgiving attire! If you are not into that, dress really nice or pull out your sweatpants because you know you will be eating well.
