The 7 Types Of People In Any Fantasy Football League

1. The Spreadsheeter

Everyone's over for the draft when suddenly this person whips out their laptop and has several tabs of spreadsheets open. What...could possibly be on these charts? When did they make these? And why? You notice one of the charts has your name on it and when you ask them about it they just say, "Fantasy is really a math game." This person will get in, like, second-to-last place.

2. The Autodrafter

This person is your flakiest friend who, for the seventh season in a row, did not show up to the draft party. It seems every year a different uncle of theirs gets "sick" on the day of the draft, so they have to autodraft. Amazingly, their autodrafts are always spectacular so, once again, they will probably take first place this season.

3. The Shadow Leaguer

Every fantasy football league has that one team that nobody seems to know who made it. Is it someone's dad, maybe? A friend from college? An international spy syndicate? You ask everyone and nobody is quite sure. Even the commissioner doesn't know, and when you ask them, they pat you on the shoulder and say, "What happens in the league is fantasy. Let's keep it that way." This team will consistently get in second place.

4. The Name Recognizer

This is most likely someone's significant other forced to play because you needed to keep the league's numbers even. They don't follow football but know a few players solely because those players are hot, so that's who they choose for their team. On weeks you play them it startles and intimidates you to see all those handsome faces smiling. This person will get near last place, but probably had better time than most.

5. The Multi-Leaguer

You might want to check to see if this person is ok. They have agreed to be in multiple leagues of varying buy-in amounts, but neglected to tell your league this when they signed up for yours. They consistently forget to set their lineup and accidentally text the wrong league group chat. They will get third place but won't realize it unless you tell them.

6. The "Fantasy Football Is Art" Person

Great stuff from this person. They perfectly calibrated a team name that is at once an inside joke amongst the other players but also funny on its own. They used photoshop to create their team logo. They are the only person who uses the weird chat feature that your chosen fantasy league app provides, and they are always laser with their smack talk on there. This person will get dead last.

7. The Post-Season Failure

A tragic figure. This person won every single game during the regular season, but through some sort of dark magic is unable to deliver during the playoffs. You simply hate to see it.
