Bubba Smith Has Died

Football great turned actor Bubba Smith passed away last night at the age of 66. The cause of death is unknown. While he was an accomplished football player, helping the Colts win a Super Bowl in 1971, Smith is perhaps best known as gentle giant Moses Hightower from the Police Academy films. Smith, a former NFL defensive star who found a successful second career as an actor, has died in Los Angeles at age 66. Los Angeles County coroner's spokesman Ed Winter says Smith was found dead Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at his Baldwin Hills home. Winter says he didn't know the circumstances or cause of death.
