MoMA is, perhaps, the most known NY's art museum. There it is possible to see works of the most acclaimed modern artists, such as Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dalí and Frida Kahlo. If you like contemporary art, take a moment to visit PS1 (it is free showing your MoMA ticket at the entrance).

Most known as Guggenheim, this museum is famous for its architecture. The collections offer impressionism, post-impressionism, modern and contemporary artworks. Although it is an amazing place, this museum has a more specific public. In other words, if museums are not your cup of tea, it is possible that you hate Mr. Guggenheim's collection.

This is a museum for who does not like one. It is very amusing and perfect to visit with the entire family. There is everything related to film production and a lot of the collection is interactive. It is possible to dub actors, test different songs in famous movie scenes, do stop motion, among many other things. It is really worthy to save a few hours to visit this museum.

New Museum

This is a contemporary art museum and it is pretty interesting. The New Museum has shown artworks from the entire world, from Brazil to China. They offer different tours, including one from American Sign Language for people with hearing impairments. Besides this, the museum organizes family events once in a while.

MET (The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

If you have visited the Louvre maybe you will notice a resemblance with this museum. There is A LOT in there. Really, a lot. So, unless you want to live there, it is good to plan and choose the collections you want to see. MET offers what we imagine when we think about the word "museum". There are artworks from Ancient Greece, Egypt, and all the rest of the world I didn't mention. You must visit. Maybe not, who knows?

American Museum of Natural History

This museum, as its name says, it is not an art museum, but a natural history museum. It is divided into some halls: birds, reptiles and amphibians, meteorites, forests, biodiversity, among others. It is a great tour to do with children. Who watched Night at The Museum will certainly recognise the space.

The Frick Collection

Mr. Frick's collection covers works from the 14th to the 19th century. Besides the paintings, it is possible to find Chinese ceramics, oriental tapestry, clocks, and others. Names such as Rembrandt, El Greco, Francisco de Goya, and Vermeer are also part of the collection.
