Spend A Day At Hogwarts And Ill Match You With One Of The Core Subjects

Transfiguration is the family of magical spells that are used for changing objects from one thing to another! At Hogwarts, Transfiguration is taught by Professor Minerva McGonagall.

Charms is a course that teaches how to cast the class of spells known as Charms. These are spells that alter an object without changing its essential nature!  Given a teapot, the spell that makes it tap dance across the desk would be a charm, the spell that turns it into a tortoise would not.

Potions was **a core class and subject taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry**. In this class, students learnt the correct way to brew potions.

This class was **a study of magical history**. This was one of the subjects where the use of magic practically was not necessary. History of Magic was taught from the first year to the fifth, and was completed with an O.W.L.

Defence Against the Dark Arts is a subject taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this class **students learn how to magically defend themselves against Dark Creatures, the Dark Arts, and other dark charms**.

Astronomy is **one of the only fields of study at Hogwarts which has a direct equivalent in the Muggle world**. Known student activities include learning the names of stars, constellations and planets, as well as their location and movements, and describing the environments of planets and moons.

Herbology is **the study of magical and mundane plants and fungi**. In Herbology, students learn to care for and utilize plants, and learn about their magical properties, and what they are used for.
