Arithmancy is Hermione favourite subject, probably because it's logical and precise. In fact, first you'll have to do a little math, but then you'll see the magic! You need to find three different numbers, to do that you have to assign a number to every letter of your name using the following chart.

let's take Hermione as an example

Character Number

To obtain your Character Number, add the numbers that you assigned to every letter of your name. If the sum is more than 9, add together the resulting numbers.

Heart Number

To obtain your Heart Number, add the numbers that you assigned to every vowel of your name. If the sum is more than 9, add together the resulting numbers.

Social Number

To obtain your Social Number, add the numbers that you assigned to every consonant of your name. If the sum is more than 9, add together the resulting numbers.
