    Oscars Flub Baffles Viewers, Audience

"And the award for Best Picture goes to..."

It's Monday morning and if you're like me (or the rest of America) you're living in the wake of #Oscars2017. Yesterday's Academy Awards started like any other: a bedazzled gown here, a spiffy tux there and a few wise cracks from this years host, Jimmy Kimmel.

After we've all done our parts and sat through the motions of the night -- or slept if you're taking notes from Chrissy Teigen -- it was finally time for the night's biggest announcement, the winner for 'Best Picture'. Now, while some may have assumed Hollywood's golden child La La Land to reel in yet another win, it was this seasons stunning underdog, Moonlight that most hoped to see it's time to shine and the recognition it rightfully deserved.

Once it was announced that La La Land took home the win for Best Picture, the cast and crew were knee deep in their speeches only to be interrupted by the notion that Barry Jenkins' Moonlight had actually been the winner of the coveted award. Quite an unfortunate mixup as Kimmel announced, the La La Land team was happy to turn over the stage to the true champions of the night.

Many viewers quickly flocked to the internet to ask how could such a mistake happen while announcing the prestigious award, others offered plenty of comedic relief to help pick up everyones jaws from the floor.

And somewhere in-between are the few that believe this was the doing of the seemingly unaware, Leonardo Dicaprio - who after years of being snubbed by The Academy, was out to get his calculated revenge once and for all.

Whether or not it was the heated debauchery of "DiCaprio's Inferno" or just an honest mistake by Steve Harvey disguised as Warren Beatty, the world may never know.

    Congratulations to Moonlight!
