How To Take A Selfie With GBBO Winner Nadiya

When I attended the Cake and Bake Show at ExCel London, I was able to meet and talk to one special baker..

When I was told I would be given a press ticket to attend the Cake and Bake Show at ExCel London where baking goddess Nadiya Hussain was performing, I could barely contain myself!

2.

Sure, dessert is enough to get me pretty excited but meeting Nadiya was just huge #goals.

The crowd to see Nadiya was spilling onto the floor and I had to overtake a couple of Val Stones lookalikes (see GBBO 2016) i.e cute older women, looking for a seat (sorry, I had to get close to Nadiya!)

Popping a squat on the floor, I got comfortable and then lost all composure when Nadiya arrived on stage, with her cute little son in toe.

Just as expected, Nadiya onstage is the same as Nadiya on screen; baking aficionado with the same hilarious expressions, quirky remarks and family anecdotes.

-And humble as ever: “All this shameless advertising is getting on my nerves!” she exclaimed, shoving a copy of Nadiya’s Kitchen out of the way.

With the end of her Cherry Bakewell demonstration, she was off and I had to track her down. There were some distractions however..

It was hard to not be distracted by the plethora of scrumptious desserts in my way.

But I was determined to get that selfie.

I got closer..

And then finally!

I guess dreams can come true!
