    Same-Sex Marriage Approved In The New Constitution Of Mexico City

    The Assembly of the Constituent Assembly recognizes LGBTQ+ rights

    The Plenary Assembly of the Constituent Assembly approved on January 10, 2017 , with 68 votes in favor and 11 against, civil marriage between people of the same sex, so it will be included in the Constitution of Mexico City.

    Egalitarian civil marriage appears in section H of Article 16 of the future local Constitution.

    It recognizes and protects the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transvestite, transsexual and intersex people (LGBTTTI) in order to guarantee a life free of violence.

    Recognizes homoparental families and same-sex marriage
