Men Are Sharing Some "Guy Secrets" That Most Women Don't Know About, And IDK What To Think For Some Of These

"I still remember when a girl in college told me I looked nice with my beard when I first grew it out. I’ve had a beard ever since."

I always love hearing things from a guy's POV, so I felt compelled to share this Reddit thread I found that discussed guys' "secrets" that women have no idea about. Here is what some men shared.

Note: Some responses have been edited for length and/or clarity.

    1. "Your chances of getting what you want out of us are infinitely higher if you tell us directly."

    2. "If you ask a guy what he’s thinking about and he says 'nothing,' it’s very likely nothing. That, or we know what we’re thinking about is so stupid and pointless, so we don’t really feel the need to tell anyone about it."

    3. "I don't know if other guys feel this, too, but I'm always afraid of accidentally making women feel uncomfortable in my presence; for example, when I happen to walk in the same direction as a woman in front of me for a while, and I'm not even interested in women in the first place."

    4. "When we want to be alone, it's not that we don't want to be around you, it's that we don't want to be around anyone for a bit."

    5. "If you compliment my appearance, I will probably remember forever. I still remember when a girl in college told me I looked nice with my beard when I first grew it out. I’ve had a beard ever since."

    6. "When people come crying to us, our first inclination is to fix the problem. Since this is (often) not possible, lead with something along the lines of 'Can I vent for a minute?' Or anything that signals to us this is just a time for active listening, rather than a problem-solving session."

    7. "I really love seeing my partner wearing my shirts. You can keep it, it looks way better on you than it does on me!"

    u/twilightsentinel

    8. "We enjoy simple things for birthdays, Father's Day, etc. Sometimes, a drink, junk food, and (insert hobby here) are all we want to do for our day, especially considering a lot of guys can be money-conscious and would rather spend it elsewhere."

    9. "Communicate in the most basic of terms. Dudes can confuse and misconstrue complex emotions that chicks think are totally basic."

    10. "It's called a 'sink cup' because I'm gonna use it again. Please leave it alone; I'm trying to keep the dishes to a minimum."

    11. "If you ask us a question, then the answer we give is the actual answer. You don't need to double-check, ask another way, or give different options, we're sure. We aren't tricking you or telling you what you want to hear, that's our answer. It's not going to change, and if you want to hear a different opinion, then either ask someone else or just ignore what we said."

    12. "We enjoy being the little spoon just as much. Seriously, give me more of that."

    13. "From my experience, we don’t talk to our friends about our sex lives half as much as women do."

    14. "Getting random boners for no reason when you’re literally just existing, thoughtless."
