It seems like Season 3 of the beloved Netflix show has taken the fans by storm. Everyone was so excited about the release of the next Stranger Things season and the Duffer Brothers did not disappoint.

25. The show was originally called “Montauk"

It took place on Long Island in 1980, but the Duffers had to change the show's location when they realized it would be too difficult to shoot there in winter.

24. In the pilot script, Steve Harrington was written as "the biggest douchebag on the planet," going so far as to rape Nancy Wheeler.

The character changed when actor Joe Keery turned out to be "much more likable and charming than the Duffer Brothers (Matt Duffer & Ross Duffer) originally had envisioned."

23. Dustin's medical condition is called cleidocranial dysplasia

It's a hereditary condition involving abnormal development of the collarbone and skull bones.

22. Millie Bobby Brown actually had her head shaved for her role.

Her mother filmed the whole cutting session with a camcorder. Her father was so traumatized by the event, he sobbed and couldn't bear to watch. The footage of the event was uploaded to YouTube.

15. The Duffers used the fake body of Will to scare Noah Schnapp's mother.

"We took Noah’s mom aside, told her we had something to show her, and led her into a dark closet where we had propped up this frighteningly realistic corpse of her son," they write in EW. "She was startled at first, and we felt like maybe we crossed a line… But after the initial shock, she loved it."

14. Matarazzo’s voice deepened by four octaves over the course of the first season

Gaten Matarazzo's voice had changed so much by the time production ended that the sound team could not use him for additional dialogue recording.

And it scared the little kids on set, including the twins who played Holly Wheeler and Millie Bobby Brown's little sister. Someone told the kids the monster came from Monstropolis in Monsters, Inc. to calm them down, the Duffers wrote in EW.

But they got so used to calling it the "Upside Down" on set, it stuck, Millie Bobby Brown revealed in Beyond Stranger Things. The same thing happened with the Shadow Monster in Season 2; it's supposed to be called the Mind Flayer.

8. The Duffers had to ask Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman's permission to use the costumes

They are all taught on set and this allowed Brown some quality time with her castmates, as she frequently isn’t filming scenes with them.

The Duffer Brothers say they frequently forget that Millie Bobby Brown is just 11 (during filming of season 1) and they’ll treat her like she is a “41-year-old Shakespearean actor.” One day, however, she came in covered from head to toe in glitter and they remembered how young she was. It took 45 minutes to remove the glitter before they could resume shooting.
