Everything Wrong With BuzzFeed (and Why So Many People Have Left)

As we all know, many creators have left Buzzfeed for... various reasons.

First there was Safiya, who quickly learned that the company was only limiting her capabilities.

Then...

The Try Guys left

so it *wasn't* a fluke! Buzzfeed really *does* have issues!

Let me be clear...

many other content creators have left buzzfeed, but for the sake of your entertainment and my sanity, and the length of this article, i'm not going to get into that.

I'd also like to mention that...

I know I'll get insane hate for this, but that's ok. And, I know it's a bit ironic that I'm posting this on Buzzfeed, but this may give me a chance for someone to see this!! I also am 100% aware that it's unlikely Buzzfeed will leave this up; if you search anything even relatively negative about the company through their website, nothing comes up.

Anyways,

Aside from the fact that MANY people have made the decision to leave the company, I've had my own issues.

The last quiz I created really blew up, and I've got to admit, I was shocked. I'm a fairly small creator, and I never expected to be on the homepage, or anything like that! So, when I checked for any comments/ questions from you guys, I was a bit taken aback. Buzzfeed changes your content to their liking, as some of you may know. I, for one, did not know this, and was quite frustrated to see that they had completely changed my work. I put effort into my content, and while the views (I suppose) are nice for a change, I would much rather them be authentic. I actually received a comment complaining about an option on the quiz, which I didn't write. I not only was surprised to see these edits, but frustrated that upon sending an email to Buzzfeed Community Editors, I gained no response.
