Galicia is known for being the home to one of the most frequented pilgrimage sites in the world- St. James Way. For this reason itself is already worth visiting this northern region of the country, although it has much more to offer than that.

Galicia is such an ancient region, you'll be astonished with its many historical monuments. The Tower of Hercules and Lugo’s city walls are such a great example, they were both designated World Heritage sites by the UNESCO.

Although the region's history and scenery are often promoted as the main areas of attraction, the landscapes in Galicia are astonishing. It’s landscape is characterised by its green forests and its coast filled up by beautiful beaches and breathtaking cliffs.

Summer is welcomed on the night of the 23rd of June with a traditional festival known as San Juan. During that night families and groups of friends gather together at the beach where they light up their bon fires in order to imitate the ancient celebrations related to the summer solstice. That night the festival season gets officially started and will continue with several but different celebrations from then on.
