I Hung In Singapore For Three Days And Here's Everywhere I Went

I went to Singapore for the Fantasy Island movie premiere and OMG take me back!

Hey friends! Essence here, the beauty director at BuzzFeed, and I just got back from a special screening of Fantasy Island in Singapore with SONY Pictures. In just three days, we packed in a ton of amazing activities and covered a lot of ground. Here are all the places I went.

But first what was I doing there, you ask? SONY flew out a bunch of creators and influencers from all over the world, and because I'm also an influencer in BuzzFeed's talent program, I was selected too. We were there to watch the movie in advance of its premier, which is in theaters today in the U.S, and enjoy a bunch of activities themed around the movie.

1. Palawan Beach

Palawan Beach is a stunning man-made beach with a suspension bridge that links to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia! You can actually walk the bridge from the beach to the point and enjoy unbelievable views on the water. Heads up that though completely safe and secure, the bridge is made of wood panels linked by rope so your legs feel a bit like jello from all the shakiness once you cross it.

2. Fort Siloso

If you're a history nerd, stopping by Fort Siloso is a must! It's the most well-preserved military fort in Singapore, and it's full of memorabilia from World War II, including coastal guns and the remains of military tunnels.

3. S.E.A. Aquarium

The S.E.A. Aquarium houses over 100,000 marine animals. From jellyfish to hammerhead sharks, there's so much to see. Several interactive stations are also set up, like this petting pool and an educational activation on climate change.

4. Mega Adventure Park

Mega Adventure Park has several activities, all of which are adventurous as the name suggests. I went on the Mega Climb as part of a challenge on our itinerary. The climb has three treetop courses, from about 16 feet to to 50 feet off the ground. Strapped in a harness, you have to walk skinny cables and shaky planks. Exhilarating is an understatement!

5. Garden By The Bay

Garden By The Bay is as lush as it sounds. Surrounded by greenery, you can walk the observatory for arguably the most stunning views in Singapore. One of the most famed attractions is the Supertrees display. Between 80 and 165 feet, the Supertrees are large canopies that light up like skyscrapers in the night. Here I'm standing on the Marina By The Bay Sands rooftop (a luxury hotel worth exploring, especially if you love architecture) with the Supertrees behind me.

6. St. Jonh Island

Not one for long periods outdoors but I suddenly start to appreciate nature on a yacht in the middle of St. Jonh Island. Surrounded by water, there are few things to do, like swimming, hiking, fishing, and picnicking. Or relaxing on a yacht and taking pics for the gram.

7. FOC Sentosa

FOC Sentosa is a cute eatery located right on the beach. It was inspired by Barcelona's beach culture and has Michelin star cuisine curated by renowned chef, Nandu Jubany. Visitors can order at the restaurant or at the beach and day beds.
