    The Salt And The C

    Original prose from Eric Schettl.

The salt and the c were the bestest of friends, they loved each other's company. But the salt would always roam around, dancing with whatever came it's way, and the c just wanted to stay still and imagine all the things it could create and it sure could create, so many things. It conjured up all sorts of catastrophes, like cyclones and Calvary carnage, and chaotic clones, but it could also clammer up some cleverly cind concepts as well, it created cartoons, cloverleaf 4s, and continuos clippers, that floated above the cids heads so that they would never have to go to the barber. So the c would often not notice the salt was gone for it was clamishly cool in its own mind. But after long periods of c-ation it would realize that the salt was off dancing somewhere and miss the salt terribly. Now the salt sure seemed to never get tired of dancing, it danced with the wind, hamburger patties, did a fine tango with a watermelon, and even one time had a terrible run in with a kilo who seemed really cut down by life, and ended up in someone's boogers. But every now and again the salt would get a little tired, and so one day after weeks of dancing, the salt was breezing along down the west coast, feeling a little blue. It was looking out at the sun, wondering how it could shine so brightly, go away, and then come back again with the same brightness the very next day when SMACK the salt flew right into a brick wall!

It was dazed, hazed and feeling a bit t-d off, so it decided to go yell at whoever had the nerve to put such an obstacle in its way. It crept along the ledge and through a large wooden door that read, Chummies chocolate shore, it slid underneath the door to have a peak around and chocolate candies lay all around there were fluffy ones that looked like they'd Burst with just one touch, "I wonder what's in them?" And salt didn't think all that much, there were so many to gaze upon but one caught his eye and he had no idea why.

He floated over to it slipped through the crack between two silver handled glass doors and landed on a thin red sheet with all kinds of designs, swirls and circles all about, to have a chat with this one piece that had made him feel cloudy, but also bright. "Well hey there!" The salt slightly screamed for he was somehow nervous inside "I noticed you from across the room, if I must confide" "oh hello" said the chocolate as the salt jumped back in shock, it had the most beautiful voice the salt had ever heard, and it made it tremble on the sheet... "Uh hum.. Well I was just wondering what are all those big Chrystal looking specs, sitting right on top of you there? They sure didn't look like him, and they sure didn't look like hair. "Well silly that's salt" the chocolate giggled, it sits on top you see?" "Hey that's not salt at all! For it doesn't looked anything like me" the salt was confused and felt crappy he didn't understand, so he started breezing away, "I'm going back to dance land" and as the salt was was slipping through the glass doors, trying hard to shake it off and just dance the chocolate bellowed "that's because I got it from the C!" The salt ferociously fell to the ground writhing in pain when it started having flashbacks of the C and all the wonderful times they had shared. Through the torment and agony the salt managed to catch a breeze and gathered speed as it screamed "Where are you C??!!" It shouted and hollered drifting about for weeks and weeks, feeling as though time didn't exist the salt dropped onto the sand, it felt as though there was no hope left, it no longer had any urge to dance. the salt decided it was going to stay there forever, just wither away and die, without the c the salt realized it could no longer feel the rythym and just wanted to cry. but suddenly out of no where the salt felt just enough strength, to give one final call for the C. It rattled around gathering up tons of momentum and speed "C!!!! I need you with me!!!!" The C was in the midst of creating, crunching the texture of light blue, trying to reflect the sky, like only the C could do. When all of the sudden it got hit with a wave in the shape of M E, and snapped out of its creation as it looked up to see... The salt. The C fluttered and splattered with joy..then shouted "SALT SALT SALT SALT SALT!!!! Oh how I missed you ooo boy!!! The salt was hit my this wind of wonderful words and flew up into the sky! "C I WANT TO DANCE WITH YOU FOREVER, AS TIME PASSES US BY!" The salt sped towards the C with all its might while zues looked down with great delight. The smashed into each other, two now becoming one they found new life bursting inside them, and the Salton Sea was born.
