Dump Your Ex’s Stuff and Say Hello to Healing

Valentine's day is a romantic day for couples but those dealing with a break up don’t fret Goodwill is here to help.

Head out to Horizon Goodwill today and ditch your baggage. Ladies, that oversized sweater, ditch it! Guys, the scarf that reminds you of good times, donate it and move on.

Books, DVD’s, gifts and love letters cluttering your space will send you into a downward spiral. “It’s always important to get rid of your ex’s stuff because if you’ve got it was hanging around, you’re still psychologically clinging onto the past," says Dr. Cheryl Fraser, psychologist and passion coach. "By getting rid of it, you create space, for now, either for the relationship you’re currently in or to get into another relationship without hanging onto what used to be,” says Fraser.

Goodwill will help you with that break-up guide to Spring-cleaning. Horizon Goodwill will accept any items an ex-boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse left behind after the break-up, at any of its more than 20 donation locations across the four-state area as part of the nonprofit's annual “Dump Your Ex’s Stuff” donation drive.
