Promising review: "I absolutely love this wallet. I needed a new travel wallet, and this holds everything I need all in one place, and it still closes nicely and stays flat! I can fit my boarding pass, passport, ID, credit cards, money, checked baggage tickets, receipts, and more in it, yet it doesn’t bulk up or look like an overstuffed mess. It's just amazing. The description says it only holds US money, but I just used the boarding pass flap to hold all my Japanese Yen (¥), which are larger. I didn’t use the zippered pocket for coins as I much prefer a separate coin purse for that sort of thing. I definitely recommend to anyone who travels a lot!" —Anthony Luu

Get it from Amazon for $13.99+ (available in 35 colors).

    3. A travel laptop backpack with plenty of room for everything you need, plus protection for your tech that has truly ... thought ... of everything?? It held up really well throughout, and fit dimensions for WOW, Vueling, and EasyJet." —CM

Promising review: "Exactly what I was looking for in a weekend bag. It is very well made, good construction from zippers to straps, inside and out. 5. A popular water-resistant Under Armour face mask designed to sit off your lips, giving you plenty of room to breathe without getting fabric sucked into your mouth — a perfect mask for anyone looking to relax on a long plane flight. It's also made with the company's Iso-Chill fabric, so it doesn't overheat despite being bulkier than other masks.

FWIW, if you're planning to exercise in a mask while traveling, this mask also has the approval of a *ton* of runners and athletes in its reviews, but also runners IRL. I run in Central Park four days a week and I am constantly seeing other runners in this mask. I have two of them in my own run rotation, and I'm impressed not only by how well they stay in place and don't get over-sweaty and gross on long runs, but by how well they wash up and maintain their shape. The straps are super soft on your ears, too. I've gotten to used to straps chafing on longer runs that I was surprised by what a difference this made. I gifted one of these to my dad for Christmas, too, and it's his go-to for walks and errand running. It's just an overall easier mask to breathe in (while still maintaining a tight fit and keeping the people around you safe!).

Promising review: "I love this mask. It's comfortable and fits well on the sides. It's multi-layer which gives me peace of mind, but it's not hot nor does it trap my breath making it uncomfortable when I'm working out. It washes and dries well, but just make sure you give yourself time for it to completely dry before planning to wear again...as I mentioned, it's multi-layer, so it takes a little longer (to air dry). I also wore this mask on recent plane trips that I took for the extra peace of mind. So glad I spent the money on a better-made mask. I'm thinking of ordering another one." —Kristi S.

    6. Plus a soft silicone ear-saver and mask-extender you'll be grateful for on long flights, train rides, and bus trips — not only does it take some of the pressure off your ears, but it helps make a more personalized fit on masks with elastic straps that don't *quite* fit your face, making them much comfier and more secure.

People are also using these to prevent their hearing aids or earbuds from falling out and getting lost while they're taking masks on and off. Plus this silicone ear-saver is anti-slip to keep it locked in place, and designed not to get tangled in hair.

Psst — a lot of reviewers mention this worked great for kids' masks, especially since sizing for kids' faces is all over the place and difficult to measure out when you're buying masks online!

Promising review: "I bought these for my second 10-hour plane ride because the back of my ears hurt so bad from the mask the first time! These are supper comfortable easy to use!! Love that it has three notches to adjust it better! Overall love the product!" —Carlee Wilson

    7. A set of Sea Bands, which target an acupuncture point on your wrists meant to help reduce nausea — a must-have for anyone who gets motion sick on long car rides, cruises, buses, and trains.

Promising review: "These were awesome! My entire family suffers from motion sickness, especially car sickness. My little one gets sick in the car on a regular car ride through the city. So I knew that a long road trip was going to be a disaster. I was amazed at how well these bands worked for everyone! Not one single person complained about being sick for 12 hours in the car. At one point I did have one child remove their bands because they said they were getting too tight. But after only a few minutes without them, a headache started to come on, so they immediately put them back on and the relief was instant. I have suffered for decades and now I know better. I will never travel without mine again!" —1SmartCookie

Promising review: "I fly a lot and am constantly trying to find a hoodie with a big hood to cover my eyes so I can catch up on some beauty sleep on flight. I saw this product on Instagram and knew it would be a game-changer. I was able to use it recently for the first time on an early morning flight and let me tell you, it is EVERYTHING I was looking for and more. It’s comfy, cozy, oversized and the eye covers make you feel like you’re in a whole other world and not packed like a sardine on a plane. My over ear headphone fit perfectly under it and I got the best sleep I’ve had on a plane — EVER! Like other reviews have said it is big so size down if you want something a little more snug. I have been wearing it everyday at home and can’t wait to get the black and blush one!" —Heather G.

It fits any phone up to 100mm x 170mm (or about 3.9 inches x 6.7 inches). It's also a great fix for keeping out sand and dirt (and a great option for runners, if you're caught in the rain but still want to be able to toggle through your music options).

Promising review: "I purchased this case in July for an upcoming canoe trip with a friend, and as luck would have it, we flipped our canoe. Being the rebel that I am, I chose not to wear my phone around my neck, and so it, my ID, and my debit card ended up at the bottom of the river and I just assumed it would be discovered a thousand years from now and placed in a museum as an ancient artifact. Fast forward to this week. I was contacted via FB by an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office diver and guess what he found? Yup, my phone case with all of the contents intact and dry as a bone! He had to cut the case open, but there was not one single drop of water in it and he ended up purchasing a case for himself because he was just that impressed!" —Julie McDonald

    11. A handy as heck sunburn soother you'll probably want to stock up on before any kind of vacation involving a lot of ☀️ — it's made with aloe and coconut oil to hydrate skin and gently relieve pain from the sun's unforgiving rays within just a few hours.

Psst — a lot of reviewers mentioned this also helped prevent peeling and itching!

Promising review: "I bought this product to take on our vacation. I am so glad I did. I got burnt on my lower legs and tops of my feet. I thought I had put enough sunscreen on. I didn't. That night I woke with my legs and feet both burning and itching. The instant I put this on I had relief. OMG I cannot say enough about this stuff. Buy it. Keep it on hand. Great product. Thank you Burt's Bees!" —D.S.

    13. A mini steam iron you'll *definitely* want to invest in if you pack tight and you've got formal occasions or ~dressy outfits~ to show off. This is a much easier solution than wrangling a hotel iron or trying to run the shower steam over your clothes.

the compact steam iron packed in a suitcase full of clothes
    Amazon

Promising review: "The best travel item I have purchased this year! It irons so well. I took it on a trip to Germany a few weeks ago. I just placed a towel on the counter or on the bed, and it took minimal effort to iron out the creases. The steam works very well. I hardly had to use the max heat option because it’s pretty powerful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who does business travel and are going to areas that don’t have irons available in the hotel rooms or for leisure travel as well. It doesn’t take up much room. It fits in the palm of my hand. I also had no problem getting through security in Germany, London, or the US."—Erica Kowsari

Get it from Amazon for $20.27.

    14. A delightful little tool called the "Bug Bite Thing" – it suctions on all kinds of bug bites to reduce swelling, itchiness, and redness, so you can go on hiking and camping trips without itching like you're trying to start a new TikTok dance.

A BuzzFeed editor's arm with a bite on it
    Rebecca O'Connell / BuzzFeed

This works on mosquitoes, bees, wasps, biting flies, sea lice, and more (although TBH, if this list of bugs gets any longer I may just stay indoors forever!!).

Promising review: "I bought this before a NH trip with my nephews because one of them had seen it advertised (on YouTube?) and thought it was wild. I thought maybe they'd use at some point on the trip — but instead, I got absolutely massacred by mosquitos on a hike (THROUGH YOGA PANTS) on the one day I didn't use bug spray. I swell up like crazy when I'm bit, and this zapped the itch. My bites also faded much faster than they usually do on my skin. Wildly effective product. Went well beyond my expectations." —Kate S

Promising review: "Wow. I took this on vacation, during which we walked about 20,000 steps daily. And of course my shoes being to rub against parts of my feet, terribly. But I smeared this on and it was amazing. I did have to reapply a few times a day, in public, but I highly recommend this!! I used it on my toes, ankle area, etc., and my feet felt great (normal)." —Y.

    18. A glare-free Kindle Paperwhite that is, bless its technological heart, fully waterproof, so you can take it on all your wettest, wildest travels without sending all the unsuspecting characters to an early watery grave. This will not only hold thousands of books, but will let you read the *chef's kiss* way you like best — you can customize it with all their favorite fonts and layouts, and organize your virtual shelves to your precise standards.

Promising review: "For Christmas I got the Kindle and took it on vacation. I loved having it! I was able to read three books that I otherwise would not have brought as they take up space. The screen really does look like a paper page and while you don’t flip a page, I found I didn’t miss it. The battery also truly does last about a week and that’s with me using it for hours a day. The ability to instantly get a new book was great and I am reading more than I was previously as I don’t have to wait for a physical book. The ability to check out books from your local library is also great. Another plus is not needing multiple book cases. I move a lot and each time I dread packing up and hauling box after box of books. I love seeing a big book case full of books but realized I only re-read a few and the rest are basically an art piece. I will probably not buy another physical book again unless a very special case." —Photoculturist

Promising review: "I bought these for vacation and wore them every day for a week. They are extremely comfortable, which is rare for me to say about shoes in general cause my feet are super flat, and fit great. I am a size 7 in most shoes and I got a size 7.5, so they fit just as I expected they would. A little big, but still fit on my ankles so they wouldn't slip off. Sand didn't get in at all, unlike normal surf shoes.  The image is very accurate, which I was worried about. It looks just like the picture! I will be using them more in the future for showers!" —RedRover

    the jetlag pills
    Amazon

According to the instructions, you should take them at take off and then every two hours and then again once you arrive to help with relaxation and combat sleepiness.

Promising review: "My husband and I have used this product now for five years for multiple trips overseas and these really work. How do we know? We've forgotten to use them on a couple of legs and there has been a night/day difference in our energy levels. We use precisely as directed, setting timers on our phone when possible to remember the doses. On a few occasions we've slept through the timer, so missed the timing of a couple of doses, and we've been fine. Our last trip to Australia was 34 hours door-to-door on the outbound. We would have been a complete wreck without these. As it was, we arrived late morning, remained awake and lively (enough) through dinner, and then got a good night's sleep. The next day we felt as good as new. For the years before I used this, I would need to sleep for a few days after a leg like that. We never travel without this now. I highly recommend this product." —motokat

Promising review: "Add to cart! I got this for a trip to Alaska and it saved my butt, literally! I kept it hanging from my waistpack and had zero issues and it was always ready to go. This product is constructed in such a way that the side that touches your body is never exposed. I love that this eliminates the need to pack TP! It totally made my trip." —Nikki Perritt

    35. An inflatable wedge pillow so you can fully conk out by turning that dead space between you and the chair in front of you into your own personal oasis — this is great for resting your head to watch stuff on your phone and also just for catching some ZZZs.

Promising review: "I used this on four international flights last month and it made all the difference in the world. It's compact, easy to inflate/deflate, very versatile in how you can position it, doesn't rely on the tray table, and works well for bulkhead seats as well as those with someone in front of you. I can't sleep with my head back without snorting myself awake, so this is a perfect alternative. I can very comfortably lean forward in my seat and sleep almost like I can in a bed. I'm 6'2" and this pillow is plenty tall enough to just rest on my lap and let me lean forward into it without feeling crunched over. This pillow will easily let me get enough comfortable periods of sleep on a 9-hour flight that I don't feel completely drained upon arrival. My wife tried mine out before we left on vacation and loved it so much she had me order her one. We both wouldn't travel without them now." —Still Chilly In Colorado

Promising review: "We purchased these prior to a 2,000-mile road trip. They were incredibly convenient, especially when we went to Niagara Falls and other public and potentially dirty places. They lather pretty well when water is added and the scent is not gross or too strong. I highly recommend these!" —Courtney

    38. A memory foam seat cushion for your tushy so effective at relieving pressure from your tailbone that you'll finally be able to take long car rides and plane flights without cursing every bone in your back for making themselves known.

Promising review: "A few weeks into working from home five days a week I started having a lot of hip/leg/back pain. I have a good Herman Miller task chair that had been fine for one to two days of WFH a week, but wasn't working for me full time. In the early afternoons my lower back would start cramping. I did some research and bought this pillow and it immediately helped! I also took it on a two week road trip since a three day road trip earlier this year had made a mess of my lower body that lingered for weeks — and no pain! What really drove me to write this review was that yesterday, unknowingly, I worked all day sitting on my chair without my cushion. I had removed it to use as a spare chair at my dinner table and forgot to put it back. At the end of the day hip was aching and I realized why! Today it's back on my chair and I'm already feeling better." —Lorene

Psst — a lot of reviewers love these for swimming, too! They come in a TON of fun colors.

Promising review: "Pockets. Love the pockets. Wore as a swim bottom on vacation. Worked great-flexible, durable, no show. Fit was superb — slipped on, molded to my shape, providing support. Color was good and washed up well in cold. I wore these all day with a tankini as my attire both in and out of the ocean. Seams were solid during hiking. Worth the extra cost instead of cheaper brands. I have this brands capris with pockets and they are great too. Substantial material — not thin. Feels like true sport material. Would buy again for sure." —J B In Midwest

Promising review: "I took this on vacation to a tropical vacation and it was the smartest move ever. It looks like headphones so no one looks at you weird and the airflow is great. They have rolling blackouts here but I have not skip one beat. I pop on my fan and keep it breezy. I have also used it while applying my makeup so I don't start sweating before it sets. I take this thing all over the island and people ask where I got it once they figure out it's a fan. Plus the light makes me feel a little safer if I'm still outside during night time. I love the convenience of the charger but I've used it continuously for two hours so far and the battery held just fine. The places you can take this and stay cool are just amazing. Promising review: "I bought this item for a hiking/camping trip in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and did it work amazing! It is an advantage to carry this around with you instead of bottles of water or a hydration pack. I was not afraid at one second to stick this into a random creek we came across and start to drink. The initial drink was a little tough. (Just need to get the water through the filter) But I would rather it be like that, so I know that the filter is doing its job. After that, the rest of the sips were easy. Make sure you clean this according to the instructions after each use. Do not hesitate to purchase this product and use it in a water source when you are thirsty." —Gadde15
