The Oscar nominations were announced on Thursday morning and they haven't been so white since 1998. As a result, many are turning to Twitter to speak out about the lack of people of color among the nominees using the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite.
For starters, there's this photo circulating of all the Best Actor and Best Actress nominees.
And others are pointing out that people of color only get nominated when they play certain roles.
Many have mentioned the fact that the lack of POC among the nominees speaks to recent current events.
And some have suggested that Academy voters missed the entire point of Selma, the only film with a diverse cast that even got nominated.
But as funny as some of the #OscarsSoWhite tweets are, they're reminders of an issue that's really no laughing matter.
